BIKE

Bike aid stations will feature Gatorade. We will also have gels available (brand TBD).

World’s Toughest Half

Athletes will enjoy four aid stations on the 56-mile bike route. There are 2 actual aid stations but used both outbound and home bound.

  • Mile 12.6: Top of a short climb just beyond Bell Rd, just beyond 30k turnaround
  • Mile 20.5: I-80 and W. Paoli Rd. outbound
  • Mile 36.1: I-80 and W. Paoli Rd. home bound
  • Mile 49.2: Top of “LeMond walked” climb before Bell Rd.

There is a Porta Potty at the mile 20 & 36 aid station, as well as a permanent bathroom at mile 30 at Bear River Campground.

International Tri

Cyclists will have out and back access to the Bowman Rd. aid station:

  • Mile 12.6: Top of a short climb just beyond Bell Rd.
  • Mile 19: Top of “LeMond walked” climb before Bell Rd.

Mini Tri

  • No bike aid stations

RUN

World’s Toughest Half (13.1-mile): 11 Aid Stations

  • Mile 0 – American River Overlook run start
  • Mile 1.3– Western States Aid – Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue
  • Mile 2.8 – 49 Aid Station – FCA
  • Mile 4.3 – Western States Aid – Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue
  • Mile 5.3 – Lower Dam Aid – Sacramento Tri Club
  • Mile 7.5– Upper Dam Aid – outbound Sacramento Tri Club
  • Mile 8.5– Upper Dam Aid – return Sacramento Tri Club
  • Mile 9.5 – Maidu Dr and Water Canal FCA
  • Mile 10.8 – American River Canyon Overlook T2
  • Mile 12.1 – Maidu Dr and Water Canal

International Tri (10k): 6 Aid Stations

  • Mile 0 – American River Canyon Overlook run start
  • Mile 1.5 – Upper Dam  – Turn around point for the International
  • Mile 2.5– Maidu Dr and Water Canal
  • Mile 3.8 – American River Canyon Overlook lap 2 start
  • Mile 5.1 – Maidu Dr and Water Canal loop 2

Mini Tri (3k): 2 Aid Stations

  • Mile 0 – American River Canyon Overlook run start
  • Mile 1.3– Maidu Dr and water canal

Run aid stations will feature beverages of water and Gatorade and  coke . Caloric needs will be met with gels (TBD) assorted sweets and salty snacks.

Other items available at each aid station: First aid kit, Vaseline, toilet paper, sunscreen, salt pills. Port a Pottys will be available at American River Canyon Overlook.
