April 17-18th: Training Weekend

Saturday May 17th:

  • 1:00pm - 5:00pm - Skyridge School, Auburn. Race Expo and Participant Check-In.
  • 2:00&4:00pm - Skyridge School: Pre-Race Athlete Meeting. We will discuss course details, safety considerations and important rules.
  • 10am-10pm: T2 shoe drop off at Overlook Park

Sunday May 18th:

  • 5:00am: T2 shoe dropoff at Overlook Park
  • 5:30am-6:45am - Late Participant Check-In at Rattlesnake Bar Park at Folsom Lake
  • 7:00am - Rattlesnake Bar Par, Folsom Lake: World's Toughest Half - Swim Start.
  • 7:15am - Auburn International Duathlon - 3k Run Start
  • 7:30am - Auburn International Tri - Swim Start.
  • ~9:20am - First Male Pro off bike, Auburn Int'l Tri
  • ~10:00am - First Male Pro Finish, Auburn Int'l Tri
  • ~10:10am - First Male Pro off bike, WT Half and Duathlon
  • ~10:15am - First Female Pro Finish, Auburn Int'l Tri
  • ~11:30am - 1st Male Professional Finish WT Half and Auburn Int'l Duathlon
  • ~12:00pm - 1st Female Professional Finish WT Half and Auburn Int'l Duathlon
  • 12:00pm - Awards Ceremony for Int'l Tri and Pro/Elite WT Half and Duathlon
  • 11:00am - 4:30pm: Post-race athlete buffet
  • ~1:00pm - WT Half and Duathlon Run Start Cutoff Time (5:30 after final wave start)
  • 2:30pm - Awards Ceremony for WT Half age and Duathlon age groups
  • ~4:00pm - Official WT Half and Duathlon Finish Time (8:30 after final wave)
Post-Race Buffet: Included in your entry fee is a delicious buffet of rich, satisfying food after your hard effort. This buffet will be in addition to the typical athlete post-race offerings of hot Dos Coyotes burritos, Smoothie King smoothies, fresh fruit, bagels, healthy cookies and energy foods, ice cold water and Cytomax.

Spectators will have the option of numerous food vendors at the Overlook, including Smoothie King and the Daily Grind coffee house of Newcastle, CA.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  In Memory: Kristy Gough

Kristy was the 2006 World's Toughest Half champion and Hawaii Ironman world age group champion in 2004. She was killed, along with her training partner Matt Peterson, in a cycling accident in the Bay Area on March 9th.

Kristy's longtime boyfriend Clas Bjorling (2x WT Half champ) of Sweden commented: "I've never seen her so enthusiastic as in the last couple of months. She was a really talented athlete, especially on the bike. She was so strong physically and mentally."

Gina Kehr, 4th place Hawaii Ironman finisher in 2006, tuned for for '07 with a victory in the Int'l distance event.

Sweden's Clas Bjorling - 2006 men's champ and 13.1-mi run course record holder (1:21). 3rd in 2004, 2nd in 2005 and finally victory in 2006!


Dave Fish, Andrea Ivan and Angie Weinberger (below) completed their fifth consecutive World's Toughest Half events in 2007! They are Comped for 2008 entry!


2004 and 2005 Champion Nicole DeBoom cruises to victory on the running trails of the Auburn State Park.


2000 Triathlon Olympic Gold Medalist Simon Whitfield made his long course debut at the 2005 World's Toughest Half.
