3k Course Map

Course Description: Proceed from T2 parking lot for .5-mile on the nearly flat main paved park road towards park exit, then fork left onto a narrow single track trail. Proceed on this trail for ~100 meters. Turn Left onto the dirt road that follows the lakeshore, also nearly flat but with curvy. At the far end of the course (.8 mi), the road opens into a large makeshift parking area. Here, cut up to your right and enter the Pony Express Trail, turning hard right on the trail to double back in the direction of the finish line. This is a single to double track trail where passing is simple for most of the way. This trail features numerous ups and downs, eventually reaching some 60 feet higher than the starting line near lake level. The footing is good at all times.

At the 1-mile mark, you will again reach the dirt road and turn Left, heading toward the paved road/park entrance. Reaching the paved road, turn Right to head back towards T1. After .16-mile of pavement, you will reach the single track trail intersection (you headed out on the lower trail). Turn Left and away from the lake onto the single track trail. Follow up to the bluff where the trail is exposed with no trees. Proceed alongside and to the rear of the large gravel parking lot. At mile 1.5, cut right on a narrow trail dumping you out at the rear of the parking lot. Proceed along edge of parking lot to exit of lot and onto paved park road. Turn Left and proceed to the finish line.
