A beautiful morning at T1 at Rattlesnake Bar State Park. Look closely in the back and notice a white car parked in the lot. We almost raffled it off for "guess your bike split" contest till the owner came forward.
Calm, 73-degree water greeted the athletes, along with over a dozen kayakers to help guide the route. But that's not all...

The incredible post-race refreshment spread started with ice cold Cytomax and water once across the line.

Justin Hurd of Ft. Collins, CO blistered the duathlon course and was crowned 2009 national champion after a tough battle with Joe Thorne of Austin, TX.
