2007 Event Photos

Janine Stone of UNR exits the water with a big lead in the women's collegiate division

Jaime Wooten of Moorpark, CA returned for her third Auburn Triathlon

Celebrities in the pack: World-ranked Ultimate Fighter Nick Diaz demonstrates his incredibly diverse athletic talents

Athletes ascend the boat ramp into T1

The incredible Dave Seiler, Placer High School senior ranked #68 in the world in the 200 butterfly. He swam the 1.5k course as part of the Auburn Celebrity Relay Team, reaching shore in 17:29 to establish a course record - despite his obvious lack of muscle definition and peak fitness.

Steve Sexton of the Zoom Multisport team departs on his incredible bike leg of 1:09 on a course featuring a 16 consecutive miles of ascent! He won the race in a record time of 2:08...15 minutes faster than pre-race predictions!

Gerard Deegan, Irish National Duathlon Champion and top-20 World Long Course pro, traveled from Dublin to compete in the Duathlon.

Jim Peterson of the Sacramento Tri Club competes in his fourth Auburn Triathlon

Mike Scarborough of Reno Bull Moose Club scores an upset win in the hotly competitive 45-49 division. He wins a year of free pizza at Eclipse Pizza in Reno, NV!

The remarkable Gina Kehr of Redwood City, Auburn International Tri womens champ and 6th overall! In 2006 at age 37, after a couple years break from the circuit, she shocked the triathlon world with a 4th place finish at Hawaii Ironman world championships.

Kirk Koester of Nevada Reno by way of nearby Loomis, CA. The longtime local favorite finishes his 4th Auburn Triathlon, winning the collegiate Int'l race.

Race Director Brad Kearns talks to Steve Sexton about his scintillating 2:09 Olympic distance effort.

Celebrity relay anchor leg Lindsay Hyatt - the only 4x California State High School 800-meter champion in history and 2x NCAA champion at Stanford and Tennessee. Given a huge lead by her dad Ron on the bike (all time Placer middle distance record holder), she held on for the team victory despite her obviously poor running form.

US Olympian Victor Plata cruises along towards mile 8 of the half-ironman course. He caught T2 leader Lars Finanger and won the '07 World's Toughest Half, only a couple weeks removed from year 2 law school exams.

A welcome sight part way up the Dam Wall, the high energy Sacramento Tri Club aid station.

Kain Performance showed why they are one of the top forces in the sport with a nice team showing...and cool uniforms.

A welcome sight and the end of a great day. Next stop - Cytomax, Chipotle and smoothies!
